"I remember at the age of five travelling on a trolley car with my mother past a group of women on a picket line at a textile plant, seeing them being viciously beaten by security people. So that kind of thing stayed with me."
- Noam Chomsky
Though agriculture is the domestic consumption is Bangladesh's largest employment sector, the money gained from exporting textiles is the single greatest source of economic growth in Bangladesh. Exports of textiles, clothing, and ready-made garments accounted for 77% of Bangladesh’s total merchandise exports in on an average . Only 5% of textile factories are owned by foreign investors, with most of the production being controlled by local investors .
So now a days textiles becomes an important factor of our total country economy .
I am an ongoing student of "TEXTILE ENGINEERING" of BSc level . I have come from Brahmanbaria , a district of division Chittagong . I'm now in final year at my education level and always wanted to collect various information about our Textiles (both study and news) . Here I tried my best to reflect the mission and vision of me through this site .
May be it will be very helpful for all of us.
